Four Seasons

Four Seasons is a simulation of a town growing. Albany from 1826 to now, built not from photographs but from records — survey maps, land titles, satellite imagery: the place as its paperwork describes it. Land becomes parcels; country becomes lots and lines. It looks like a map because that is what it is made of. Four seasons arrive, and with them a fundamentally different way of understanding place.
